I am still in disbelieve regarding this new law, one thing I can not understand is why we have to pay to have our products tested when the big manufacturer's that I buy my ribbon, glue, flowers etc. should have to have it tested before they can sell it to us so why should we both have to pay for testing. I HOPE that this law gets changed or I will have to close down my website:(

Thank you for your comment on the Angel Baby Blog about the new CPSIA law. Fortunately for all of us with small businesses like yours and ours, the Government listened to all the letters to congress, the petitions signed, and all the blogging that was going on, and they have rescinded this law at least temporarily. They decided on Friday, January 30, to postpone it for one more year. Hopefully in this year they will change the law so they won't put all of us out of business! You're right though, we need to get on the ball and keep our voices heard throughout this year, or else the hand of Government will be so heavy it will crush the entire children's market!

Thanks for reading and commenting.

I have just contacted my store where I purchase everything and they are lead testing and are certifing there items are safe.....So I'm praying to God that this will keep me out of having to test my things again. I don't understand this law and I think it is very unclear to begin with and will hurt millions of people!!!!!! Way to go Government!!!!

I am a single mother of two children. I have worked for 10 years on my hairbow business. It is very small, but it's all I have. I cannot afford to have my products tested. My God what will I do ? This is utterly ridiculous , especially with how bad the economy is right now. Why is the United States going to put more families out of business right now ??
